Whatever operating system you use, you should check if your devices are carrier-unlocked and eSIM-compatible.
A device is considered locked means you can only use SIM cards provided by a specific carrier. In order to use eSIMs, your devices should be carrier-unlocked, that means you can use SIM cards from any carrier.
In addition, please check the list below to ensure your devices support eSIMs. As more eSIM-compatible devices are released, this list will continually expand.
iOS System
Note:
- All iPhone and iPad devices purchased from Mainland China cannot support eSIMs.
- Most iPhone and iPad purchased from Hong Kong and Macao don't support eSIM except iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone SE 2020, and iPhone XS support eSIMs.
- The US Version of iPhone 13, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max can only support eSIMs.
- iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 models can support two eSIMs at the same time.
- iPad without WiFi + Cellular features cannot support eSIMs.
- Suggested iOS version: iOS 13.3 or later.
Android System
Note:
- All Samsung S20 FE/S21 cannot support eSIMs.
- Most Samsung devices purchased from South Korea cannot support eSIMs except Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy A54 5G.
- The US version of Samsung S20/S2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Samsung Note 20 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 cannot support eSIMs.
- Hong Kong versions of Samsung Note 20 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 cannot support eSIMs.
- Google Pixel 3a purchased from South East Asia cannot support eSIMs.
- Google Pixel 3 purchased from Australia, Taiwan, and Japan cannot support eSIMs.
- Google Pixel 3 purchased from American or Canadian carriers cannot support eSIMs.
- All Huawei devices purchased from China are not eligible to use eSIM. Also, Huawei P40 Pro+ and P50 Pro cannot support eSIMs.
Windows System
Note:
- The laptops above are advertised as eSIM-enabled. Details about a model's eSIM compatibility may vary.
- For Windows 10: To use an eSIM, your PC must have Windows 10 version 1703 or later. The device must also support LTE.
