After you check your iPhone or iPad is eSIM compatible and network unlocked, you can prepare to install an eSIM. For successful installation and setup of your eSIM, you should have a stable internet connection, preferably WiFi. Installation interface may vary on different Android devices. Let’s take Google Pixel 6 as an example to see how to install an eSIM. There are two ways you can install a Textr eSIM on Android devices. You can choose either QR code eSIM installation or Manual eSIM installation. Set up Guide for Android For both of the ways, you need to do 3 steps first: Step 1: Open Settings and go to Network & Internet. Step 2: Tap on the + icon next to the Network Internet or SIMs to add your new eSIM. Step 3: Tap on Download a SIM instead? and press Next. Then you can choose the way of installation: QR Code eSIM Installation: You can find the QR Code in your Textr eSIM account or in the order confirmation email. Print out or display the QR Code on another device, then scan the QR Code. Manual eSIM Installation: Tap on Need help, then click Enter it Manually, then enter SM-DP + Address & Activation code. You can find the information on Textr eSIM account. When you are ready to use data, you can choose Textr Line 1 to access data. Toggle on Use SIM, then enable Mobile Data and Roaming. Got questions? QR Code eSIM Installation Step 1: Print out or display the QR Code on another device. You can find Textr eSIM QR code when purchasing your plan: Go to Textr eSIM webpage and click My Data Plans, then click Valid to find your valid plans. Follow the instructions and click QR Code to get the QR Code for eSIM Installation. Step 2: After you get the QR code, scan the QR Code in the Scan QR code page. Wait here for a while, the system will inform you when your eSIM is added to your phone. Manual eSIM Installation Step 1: Press Enter Details Manually at the bottom of the Scan QR code page Step 2: Input the SM-DP + Address and the Activation code into the Enter Activation Code page. Step 3: Wait for a while, the system will inform you when your eSIM is added to your phone. Label Your eSIM as Textr Line 1 Step 1: In the cellular page, tap the eSIM you just activated under the SIMs column. Step 2: Tap Cellular Plan Label on the top. Step 3: Label your eSIM as Textr Line 1 (or any other name you prefer). For iOS15 or Older Version User Set up a Default Line for texting, calling, iMessage and Facetime. Please be aware that Textr eSIM does not come with a phone number for texting and calling services. Choose a Default Line to access cellular data: Select Textr Line 1 if you want to use it now. Select Primary if you want to save Textr eSIM for later. Your data plan will not start until you connect to the local networks. How to Activate Your installed eSIM Step 1: Toggle on Turn On This Line and Data Roaming for Textr Line 1. Step 2: Go to Cellular Data. Step 3: Choose Textr Line 1 to consume data. Check If Your Devices Support eSIM Whatever operating system you use, you should check if your devices are carrier-unlocked and eSIM-compatible. Carrier-unlocked means you can use SIM cards from any carrier. Get A New Data Plan When you are ready to use eSIM, you can purchase a data plan. Sign up for a Textr eSIM account, or log in if you already have an account. You can choose a data plan by country or region. For example, if you purchase a United States data plan, you can only connect to the local networks in the United States. With a Europe regional plan, you can access data for multiple countries. After selecting your preferred data plan, you will arrive at the checkout page. If your payment is completed, you can install the eSIM on your device. 3. Install Your eSIM After you purchase a data plan, you can install the eSIM on your device. You can find how to install an eSIM on the eSIM Installation Guide: iOS & Android. Installing an eSIM will not initiate your data plan unless you enable the Textr Line and connect to local networks. So, we encourage you to install an eSIM in advance. eSIM can only be installed once. We suggest you do not remove eSIM from your device if you want to use it in the future. 4. Activate Your Plan and Access data When you are ready to use data, you can activate your data plan. Switch your cellular data plan to Textr Line, and enable the data roaming on your device.
